Congratulations Coby for being named to the 2017 Kingco 2A, All-League 1st team as Quarterback! Very proud of this outstanding field general and his accomplishments on the field and maintaining a 3.5 in the classroom. He also received the "Leadership Award" at the Totems team banquet for distinguished leadership for the 2017 season.  Keep up the great work Coby!

QBFG's NFL QB-of-the-Week goes to Seattle's Russell Wilson. Wilson celebrated his 27th birthday Sunday, with a career best day completing 21 of 30 for 345 yds, 5 TD's/0 int's (long 80 yds.) Wilson distributed the ball around and threw 3 passing TD's to Doug Baldwin, and 2 more TD's to Jermaine Kearse, to secure a much needed win over the Steelers at home 39-30. The win vaulted Seattle above .500 for the first time all season, and put the team in the NFC's second wild-card position.

QBFG's WIAA Prep QB-of-the-Week goes to Skyline's Blake Gregory. Gregory led the Spartans to victory against the undefeated and favored, Lake Stevens Vikings, in Friday nights 4A semi-final game. Gregory out-gunned the states top QB recruit, Jacob Eason, by completing 22/28 for 436 yds, 3TD's/0 int's, and added a rushing TD as well. #2 Skyline advances to the championship game against #3 Gonzaga Prep this Friday at the Tacoma Dome.

WEEK 11; NCAA QB-of-the-Week

QBFG's NCAA QB-of-the-Week goes to Cal's Jared Goff. The junior quarterback torched the OSU defense by completing 26/37 for 453 yds, 6 TD's/1 int. (long 54 yds.) The Bears improved to an overall record 6-4, and 3-4 in the PAC-12 by routing the Beavers 54-24.

QBFG's WIAA Prep QB-of-the-Week goes to the senior QB from Lakes, Jaiave Magalei. Magalei completely balled out with nearly 400 all-purpose yards and 5 TD's. He rushed for 115 yds. on 14 carries and three first half TD's, including a 66 yd. score in the first quarter. He completed 18/25 for 275 yards, 2 TD's/0 int's. Magalei almost single-handedly led his Lancers to their 53-34 win over Kamiakin, to advance to the 3A state quarterfinals. They will face the Lions from Kennewick.

QBFG's NFL QB-of-the-Week goes to Tennessee's Marcus Mariota. In his return to the field Sunday, Mariota completed 28 of 39 for 371 yds, 4 TD's/0 int's. (long 61 yds.) Mariota got the Titan's a win on the road against the New Orleans Saints, by hitting TE Anthony Fasano for a 5 yd. TD pass in OT, to beat them 34-28.

QBFG's QB-of-the-week, for an unprecedented third time in a season, goes to WSU's Luke Falk. Falk continues to play at an amazingly high level in the PAC-12. On Saturday, he completed 36/55 for 497 yds, 5 TD's/1 int. (long 75 yds.) as the Cougars came back from an early 14-0 deficit, to beat the SunDevils 38-24.

QBFG's NFL QB-of-the-Week goes to New Orlean's Drew Brees. In a shoout-out with the Giants Eli Manning, Brees completed 39 of 50 for 505 yds, 7 TD's/2 int's (long 53 yds.) The two field generals combined for 13 TD passes and 855 yds. passing, but Brees hit C.J Spiller on a 9 yd. pass for a TD, to tie the game up 49-49. The Saints stopped the Giants offense on a 4th down attempt, then kicked the game winning FG to win 52-49.

QBFG's NCAA QB-of-the-Week goes to Oregon's Vernon Adams Jr. The EWU transfer completed 23/40 against Arizona State for 315 yds, 4 TD's/1 int. (long 46 yds.). Adams rallied the Ducks late in the 4th qtr. to tie the game 41-41 and send the game into OT. In the 3rd OT, Adams hooked up with Bralon Addison for a 20 yd. TD pass, to put the Ducks up 61-55 final score.

QBFG's NCAA QB-of-the-Week, for a second consecutive week, goes to WSU's Luke Falk. Falk put up the best numbers in week 8 by completing 47/62 for 514 yds, 5 TD's/0 int's (long 43 yds.). As he did with OSU last week, Falk had his way with the Arizona defense and handed the Wildcats its 3rd loss in PAC-12 play beating them 45-42.

Lesser racked up an astounding 621 all-purpose yds. completing 9/15 for 219 yards passing, 4 TD's/1 int. (Long 46 yds.). Rushing for 402 yds. on 22 carries and 5 TD's. Lesser led his Patriots to a 84-30 win over the Colton Wildcats.

Interlake Seniors Honor Fallen Football Brother

The seniors on the Interlake H.S football team, made a classy decision to dedicate their "Senior Night" game against Bellevue, to the memory of the late Kenny Bui of Evergreen High School. Kenny recently passed away as a result of a brain trauma injury sustained during a football game (see article). Thoughts and prayers remain with the Bui family, and the Evergreen football family.

Patterson continues to produce at a amazingly high level, completing 22/36 for 296 yards, 4 TD's/3 int's (Long 60 yds.). He also rushed 80 yds. on 14 carries. Patterson led his team to the Steilacoom 23 yd. line, down a point in the 4th quarter, to set up the game winning touchdown. The Cardinals beat the Sentinels 42-40.

He also rushed 55 yds. on 13 carries. Gresch led his team, down 42-40 in the 4th quarter, to score the game winning TD. The Lions improve to 5-1 with their 46-42 win over Lakewood.

He also rushed 74 yds. on 9 carries, as Franklin-Pierce gave up 37 pts. to Orting, but was still able to secure their 2nd consecutive win 42-37.

It's Time to Give BYU's Robert Anae His Due Credit

Being the offensive coordinator for BYU football is not an easy job. The school is steeped in tradition and is best known for putting up Nintendo numbers on offense.

During the LaVell Edwards era, the Cougars frequently ranked near the top in the NCAA in passing yards and scoring. Anyone who dares to be the offensive coordinator at the Y has to face incredibly high expectations, and the Cougar faithful have run a few out of town.

BYU Deja Vu

For the second consecutive week, BYU quarterback Tanner Mangum heaved a Hail Mary pass into the end zone to give the Cougars an upset win, this time against No. 20 Boise State.

The Cougars sealed the contest with a pick-six as time expired to complete the 35-24 victory. The win marked just the second for the Cougars in the six times the two teams have played. The last came in 2013.  
Boise State struggled on offense all night. Even though quarterback Ryan Finley completed 25 of 38 passes for 29...
